This Crockpot Hot Dog Chili is a delicious, thick chili that’s perfect for topping hot dogs, burgers, or baked potatoes. It’s a flavorful blend of ground beef, spices, and a hint of sweetness, slow-cooked to perfection.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp brown sugar
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Brown the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
Combine in Crockpot: Transfer the browned beef to the crockpot. Add diced onion, garlic, tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
Slow Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours. Stir occasionally to blend flavors and thicken the chili.
Serve: Spoon the hot dog chili over your favorite hot dogs and add your favorite toppings. This chili is also great on burgers, fries, or baked potatoes!
Helpful Tips
Adjust Thickness: If the chili is too thick, add a bit of beef broth; if too thin, uncover for the last 30 minutes.
Extra Spice: Add a pinch of cayenne or a splash of hot sauce for a spicy kick.
Freezer Friendly: Make a double batch and freeze leftovers for easy hot dog toppings later!
