Ingredients:
1½ lbs ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
8 slices American or cheddar cheese
4 large burger buns, toasted
8 slices crispy bacon (optional for extra flavor)
Toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, red onion
Special Sauce:
½ cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp mustard
2 tbsp finely chopped pickles or pickle relish
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Make the Special Sauce: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, chopped pickles, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste and set aside.
Form and Season Patties: Divide ground beef into 8 equal portions and form into thin patties. Season each side with salt and black pepper.
Cook the Patties: Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 2-3 minutes per side. Add a slice of cheese to each patty after flipping, allowing it to melt.
Assemble the Stacked Burger: Spread special sauce on the bottom bun. Layer a cheesy patty, followed by lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion. Add a second cheesy patty and top with more special sauce. Repeat for each burger.
Serve: Place the top bun on each stack. Secure with a skewer if needed and enjoy!
Notes:
Toast buns on the grill for extra flavor, and add crispy bacon for a deluxe touch!
