These Christmas Ooey Gooey Butter Cookies are soft, sweet, and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious! With a buttery, cream cheese dough and festive sprinkles, they’re the perfect holiday treat to add to your cookie platter. Plus, they’re super easy to make with simple ingredients!
Ingredients:
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
½ cup powdered sugar
¼ cup holiday sprinkles (red and green, optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Make the Dough:
In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
Gradually add the cake mix, mixing until a thick, sticky dough forms. Fold in the holiday sprinkles, if using.
3. Shape the Cookies:
Place powdered sugar in a small bowl. Scoop the dough using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, then roll each ball in the powdered sugar to coat fully.
4. Bake:
Place the sugar-coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops have a crinkle appearance. The cookies should still be soft in the center.
5. Cool and Serve:
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Enjoy your soft, ooey-gooey holiday cookies!
Tips:
These cookies can be made with any flavor of cake mix for a fun twist!
