Ingredients
3-4 lb beef brisket
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup beef broth
1 large onion, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
BBQ Sauce
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Season and Sear the Brisket: Generously season the brisket with salt and pepper. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and sear the brisket on all sides until browned. Transfer the brisket to the slow cooker.
Prepare the BBQ Sauce: In a bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Add Ingredients to the Slow Cooker: Place the sliced onions and minced garlic over the brisket in the slow cooker. Pour the beef broth around the brisket and cover with half of the prepared BBQ sauce.
Cook the Brisket: Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the brisket is tender and pulls apart easily.
Serve with BBQ Sauce: Remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes. Slice or shred the brisket, then drizzle with the remaining BBQ sauce. Serve with extra sauce on the side.
Helpful Tips
Adjust Sauce Flavor: For a tangier BBQ sauce, add extra apple cider vinegar; for a sweeter sauce, increase the brown sugar.
Make It a Meal: Serve with coleslaw, cornbread, or roasted veggies for a complete Southern-inspired feast.
Leftovers: This brisket is perfect for sandwiches or tacos the next day!
