WOULD YOU EAT THIS BANGERS AND MASH WITH ONION GRAVY 

This classic British comfort food features juicy sausages (bangers) served over creamy mashed potatoes, all topped with a rich, flavorful onion gravy. Perfect for a cozy meal!

Ingredients:
For the Bangers (Sausages):
1 lb pork sausages (Cumberland or your favorite variety)
1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Mashed Potatoes:
2 lbs potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet), peeled and cubed
1/2 cup heavy cream or milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Onion Gravy:
2 large onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon flour
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:

In a large pot, add cubed potatoes and cover with water. Add a pinch of salt, then bring to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes or until potatoes are fork-tender.
Drain the potatoes, then return them to the pot. Add heavy cream and butter, then mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside and keep warm.
Cook the Sausages:

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Onion Gravy:

In the same skillet, add butter and olive oil. Add the sliced onions and cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until they become golden and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir for 1-2 minutes to cook off the raw flour taste.
Gradually add beef broth while stirring to prevent lumps. Add Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
Serve:

Plate a generous portion of mashed potatoes, top with the sausages, and ladle the onion gravy over everything. Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley if desired.
Helpful Tips:
For added flavor, add a splash of red wine or balsamic vinegar to the onion gravy.
Use creamy Yukon Gold potatoes for a rich and smooth mashed potato base.
