Ingredients:
– 2 tablespoons butter
– 1 small onion, diced
– 2 garlic cloves, minced
– 3 cups chicken broth
– 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
– 1 cup ham, diced
– 1 1/2 cups Swiss cheese, shredded
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
– 1/4 cup milk
– 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– Salt to taste
– Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Directions:
1. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced onion and garlic, sautΓ©ing until soft and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
2. Stir in the flour, cooking for another minute to form a roux.
3. Gradually whisk in the chicken broth, ensuring no lumps remain.
4. Add the shredded chicken, diced ham, and Dijon mustard to the pot. Bring to a simmer, allowing the flavors to meld for about 10 minutes.
5. Slowly stir in the heavy cream and milk, cooking for another 5 minutes until the soup is creamy and smooth.
6. Add the shredded Swiss cheese in batches, stirring continuously until melted. Season with black pepper and salt to taste.
