Ingredients:
12 oz penne pasta
1 lb Italian sausage (casings removed)
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil for garnish
Directions:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the penne pasta, chicken broth, and heavy cream to the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente.
Add the fresh spinach and Parmesan cheese, stirring until the spinach wilts and the cheese is melted and creamy.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
